Week 3 is here and hopefully the excitement continues to ratchet up. A few teams impressed me last week and several teams let me know this was going to be a long year. I am STILL not impressed with the SEC, but LSU did let me know they may be a legit contender now. And as close as they are to being one, Arkansas and Tennessee continued to show why they are nowhere close. Has anyone's offense looked better than Maryland? After dominating Syracuse, it's tough to find one. And oh Michigan...how lucky are thee...
LSU
The last few years I have tried to put LSU in that playoff contender status, but each year they let me down. 2 things you can always count on with the Tigers. A great defense, and a good running game. One thing that much tougher to count on it s quarterback. They have literally nailed almost every position on the field, but that one which is crazy when you think about they recruit. I expected Joe Burrow to be better last year when he transferred in from Ohio State...but he wasn't and not being able to keep the defense honest severely hampered LSU's playoff hopes. However, this Burrow ain't that Burrow. Joe Burrow has stepped up in a major way. In 2 games, he has already thrown his name on that Heisman watch list. He isn't playing scared like last year and doesn't mind throwing the ball into tight windows and looking for the big play. Coach O finally has a guy he can really go to war with and know he has a chance whenever he steps on the field. He just lit up a pretty good Texas defense, and considering he has another month before they play another contender I'm sure his confidence will continue to build.
JIM HARBAUGH
I said in Week 1, I wasn't sure if Harbaugh would last the year. And if they don't get extremely lucky against a decent Army team, then he might not have! Michigan has underachieved since he has been the head coach. Great defense and a solid transfer quarterback in Shea Patterson, you would think they would look better. It's true I'm not a fan of his personally but I don't know if he gets the most out of his team. Michigan has been down for awhile and when I say down, I mean in a non contender type of way. This could very well be his last year there, as those fans aren't going to be very quiet if they don't improve or at least beat Ohio State. The very reason he was brought to Ann Arbor. He's lucky they get a week to prepare before they go to Wisconsin. Looking at the schedule, there are potential losses not only in that game, but also to Iowa, Penn State, Notre Dame, Maryland, and of course the 2 rival games with Michigan State and a Buckeyes that look like they won't miss a beat under new head coach Ryan Day. If he loses 3 of those games, it will be very hard for me to see him back next year.

Arkansas State VS Georgia (3)
My Red Wolves are 1-0 since head coach Blake Anderson returned the sideline following his time away after the passing of his wife. The Georgia fans will actually be wearing pink in support of cancer to show their support to Arkansas State and Coach Anderson which is an awesome gesture! However, the support may not be the same on the field as the Bulldogs are expected to roll. The last time ASU played a gae against a major team it was Alabama last year in a game where they flat out played scared, unprepared and not ready for the moment. There were dropped passes and no efforts to even tackle someone on defense. I expect a MUCH better game tomorrow as the team continues to play inspired. Georgia with 2 Heisman candidates in the backfield will indeed be tough to stop but I expect Arkansas State to hang around for awhile.

Alabama (2) VS South Carolina
Alabama returns to South Carolina for the first time since they lost in 2010. Obviously this is a much different team as that Gamecock team was led by Steve Spurrier and featured several NFL players. Not so much for this team. True Freshman don't always have the best luck against Nick Saban and Alabama but that's exactly what South Carolina brings in with Ryan Hilinski. I think the Gamecocks are talented and can make some plays, however Alabama may have more skill position talent than anyone and a quarterback who will likely be a high pick in next years NFL draft. I'll take Alabama but much closer than the experts think.

Clemson VS Syracuse
The only team to beat Clemson besides Alabama in the last 4 years is Syracuse and they also played them close 2 other times. But after watching the beatdown Maryland put on them last week, does anyone seriously think they have a chance? Syracuse is clearly and well coached and maybe they were looking ahead to this game but when you lose by 40 a week before playing the number 1 team in the country, it doesn't give me much hope. Clemson is extremely talented on both sides of the ball. They dominated Texas A&M and didn't play great to me. The fact that they can and will get better is scary. Syracuse may hang around for a half but it will just be a matter of time before the talent in the depth chart starts to show.

Oklahoma VS UCLA
Does anyone need a win more than Chip Kelly? He hasn't done anything since he arrived in downtown Los Angeles besides lose games and have fans questions anything he has ever done. Whatever magic he created in Oregon has clearly fallen by the wayside. And having Oklahoma roll the way they have so far this year is probably not the best way to get things on track. Oklahoma is too fast and too physical for a UCLA team that struggles to move the ball. Kelly needs to find consistency from the quarterback position immediately before the Bruins can even be challenging in this game. I expect Oklahoma to continue to dominate. Jalen Hurts is improving each week and tons of talent around him and Oklahoma's defense so far as at least an idea of how to stop someone.

WEEK 2 COLLEGE FOOTBALL IN REVIEW!
College football is back and we were treated with a great Saturday night game between Oregon and Auburn. Watching games all Saturday was the best way to welcome college football back fully! I can't wait til this week as more players stand up and stand out, and we see if any teams that we didn't expect to look great, indeed look great! Will Clemson be upset? I doubt it, but there's one Texas A&M player who went on record with a difference of opinion....but first..
What stood out?
Oregon blows another lead..
Once is luck, twice is a coincidence, but the third time is a pattern and Oregon has made a pattern of blowing leads. This didn't start now. It has been going on with Oregon teams for years now. From the Mariota days, to the Vernon Adams days, and clearly to the Justin Herbert era, they just have a really bad habit of blowing big leads. They have a quick hitting offense that seems to score at will and they jump out to big leads often, but then I don't know what happens! Is it complacency, coaching, or what? If they ever want to compete for a title that has to stop. They have more talent than anyone else in the PAC 12 when healthy, but it won't matter if they don;t fix this. Also, can Cristobal take the handcuffs off of Herbert? The NFL sees Herbert has a big time top pick kind of talent, yet Cristobal plays him like a game manager with short passes and screens. Let him play!!!
Bo Nix
Gus Malzahn has found himself a quarterback. The true freshman didn't play perfect and threw a couple of interceptions early but what we found out, is that he is a true baller and a competitor. He showed zero signs of fear the entire game even when Auburn found themselves down double digits. He shook those mistakes off to drive Oregon down the field to score a game winning touchdown with 9 seconds left on the clock! This bodes well for Auburn this year as they try and compete to win the SEC.
Oh, the SEC...
Now I know people will hate me for it but who cares? This is another "Prove It" year for me when it comes to the SEC. It's literally been Alabama, Georgia and everyone else for the last few years and nothing I saw in week one gave me the impression that that was changing. Ole Miss looked horrible losing to Memphis, Mississppi State looked like an average team, Arkansas looked pathetic struggling to a 7 point win against Portland St. And I can't forget about Tennessee losing to Sun Belt school Georgia State....at home. Missouri lost to Wyoming in Clemson transfer Kelly Bryant's debut. And South Carolina blew a 4th quarter lead and lost to rival North Carolina. It's week 1, I know this, but the SEC just doesn't look too good....per usual.
Jalen Hurts
Get your #HURTS4HEISMAN shirts out! The former Alabama quarterback BALLED out in his Oklahoma debut against hometown Houston. He accounted for 6 touchdowns and more than 500 yards of offense, looking nothing like the guy who was benched in favor of Tua in Tuscaloosa. He was poised, accurate, made quick decisions, and was the best player on the field Sunday night. What I liked most about him was his response after the game to all the hype about his play. Jalen only wanted to talk about what they could do better. This is a man who has matured greatly both on and off the field and I would not be mad if there is a Oklahoma VS Alabama playoff matchup down the line! If Hurts keep this up, it could be 3 straight Heisman trophy winners from Norman.
WEEK 3 PICKS
TEXAS A&M VS CLEMSON
I didn't know who Jared Hocker was until a day or so ago when he made a guarantee that Clemson would lose in the matchup Saturday. Poor Jared just does not understand that even though Clemson does not need bulletin board material, they will gladly take some! Now I respect Texas A&M and coach Jimbo Fisher, but Clemson is different. This was a close game last year but way before Trevor Lawrence has established himself and since he did play poorly in that game, I expect him to come ready to ball this week. A&M lost their best player in running back Trayveon Williams to the NFL, but they do return quarterback Kellen Mond who I actually really like. He is super talented and can both run and pass the ball and it'll be interesting seeing him get his second crack at the best. In the end, Clemson just has to much talent. They played a conference opponent in Georgia Tech last week, didn't play great on either side of the ball and won by almost 40., A&M will battle but it won't be enough.

TEXAS VS LSU
Another big time game this Saturday in primetime as both teams are looking to make a statement. LSU is ready to prove it can contend in the West this year and a game against the physicality and speed of Texas will definitely help prepare them. Texas has a good team so hopefully this game lives up to the hype. Texas a darkhorse Heisman contender in quarterback in Sam Ehlinger, and he will be looking to take advantage of a young LSU secondary. LSU manages to always find talent back there so I wish him luck. Where LSU doesn't have a standout, is at running back. If LSU wins this game, they will have no choice, but to establish some kind of rushing attack whether with quarterback Joe Burrow or another running back stepping up.Texas benefits from this game being at home and I think they do find a way to win.

UCF VS FAU
UCF has a squad. FAU has some good players and Lane Kiffin. Notre Dame transfer Brandon Wimbush leads the FAU attack and he has great skills players all around him that he will be getting the ball too on Saturday. FAU has a solid defense and though they did lost by 28 against Ohio State, they had a few plays that definitely made you think twice. Scoring 20 plus against a Buckeye's defense is no small task. The spread opened at UCF -10, and that sounds right to me.

As the weeks continue, I will surely have more games to pick from, but as I learned before, sometimes the games without glitz and glamour can be some of the best games of the year! Week 1 was great....as always, so many questions left unanswered but we did learn a couple of those answers....Bo Nix is a man, Jalen Hurts is a beast with a chip on his shoulder and the SEC isn't what you want it to be! Sorry, I really am.
NFL PREVIEW
The NFL is here again! College Football is a HUGE deal, but it's something about the NFL that really puts a stamp on the return of football. It doesn't have that year round feel like the NBA does with all of it's drama and player movement, but it still has enough to keep us entertained such as the drama that never ends in Dallas. The Cowboys have been dealing with the holdout of star running back Ezekiel Elliott all offseason and today he finally signed a 6 year, 90 million dollar extension with the team. Not only does is this exciting news for Cowboys fans, but also Fantasy Owners worldwide, myself included! This should be e a hell of a season and I won't recap each week like the college games, but I will try and touch on all the major storylines and review after every 4 weeks. Just to make sure all of my predictions look good.
Speaking of predictions....
NFC EAST
I expect this to be a 2 team race to the end of the year between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys.
If Philly fans could get one thing it would simply be a healthy Carson Wentz. He's played at an MVP level when he's been healthy but he's yet to finish a season. No longer will they have Nick Foles behind him to save the Eagles when he goes down, and maybe he will feel less pressure as well. When another guy steps in and leads the team to it's first Super Bowl in years, it's likely to be a ton of pressure on Wentz. Luckily he still has solid weapons in Alshon Jeffrey, Zach Ertz, and more to help him maintain. Philadelphia has also added Jordan Howard from Chicago to help bolster their lackluster running game. Philly's defense should be solid as well.
As much as I hate the Cowboys, I can't deny the talent on the team. It starts with the aforementioned Elliott who has led the league in rushing yards in 2 of his last 3 years and the year he didn't was due to suspension. He opens up the Cowboys offense for everything else to happen. Not only can he run the ball, but he is a dangerous threat as a receiver as well. Dak Prescott to me, is VERYYY average. Getting Amari Cooper was big for him last year but he still not show the consistency of a top tier quarterback. The Cowboys added a few weapons this offseason, and with Dak in line for a huge contract extension, I expect Dak to continue to improve. If he does, the Cowboys are my choice to win the NFC East.
The Giants traded away Odell Beckham Jr. , but still have all world talent Saquon Barkley but he won;t be enough. The Gioants are at least a year away from really competing.
I won't even speak on the Redskins offense, but their defense should be solid. They may be a 4-12 team.
NFC NORTH
The North is another tough division with 3 teams in line to win it. The Lions are the only team that I can say without a doubt doesn't stand a chance.
The Bears have a GREAT opportunity to repeat as long as quarterback Mitch Tribisky continues to improve and get better. Chicago was really good last year but I never thought they were a true threat as long as he was playing quarterback. I expect receiver Anthony Miller to take a jump this year and as long as he and Allen Robinson can stay healthy, Trubisky should be able to make some plays. Not to mention Tarik Cohen is a do it all back that will surely be important to the Bears chances of winning the division.
The Vikings and quarterback Kirk Cousins regressed last year from the season, Cousins has weapons like Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, plus he'll have running back Dalvin Cook back healthy. The Vikings offense should have no excuses for not being able to move the ball. We already know what the defense should do. They play extremely physical and extremely fast.
A new coach and a ton of questions regarding Aaron Rodgers. Known as maybe the most skilled quarterback of all time, Rodgers has alot to prove this year. It's been almost 10 years since he has taken a team to the Super Bowl and a playoff appearance will be needed this year. I believe in him and the Packers offense, but I still have doubts about is that defense.
My pick to win this division is the Minnesota Vikings.
NFC SOUTH
The Saints are easily my pick to win this division. I just feel they have the best combo of offense and defense. Drew Brees is getting older but he's still clearly and ELITE quarterback. With skilled players like Mike Thomas and Alvin Kamara, I don't see this offense slowing down, despite the loss of Mark Ingram. The defense is also extremely talented and full of playmakers. The Saints have made it close the last 2 years but lost! Once on a last second play to the Vikings and then again in overtime against the Rams! The feeling of those 2 losses will surely drive them this year.
Now if i am wrong about that my next choice would probably be the Carolina Panthers. This of course depends on the health of Quarterback Cam Newton. He has several playmakers including Christian McCaffrey who is truly a game changer type of player. The Panthers should have a really good defense this year, which is what is needed to win that division.
Can the Falcons get back to the Superbowl? This team just needs to get on the same page. One year the defense is great and the offensive is awful, next year the offensive is great and the defense is awful. If this team could come together they could make some major moves. What are the chances of that happening? I don't know, but it starts with Julio Jones being productive game in and game out. Hopefully if his new extension gets done before week 1 that will give him more juice to go out there and make plays.
As far Tampa Bay goes, I will never ever, ever, ever trust a team that is led Jameis Winston.
NFC WEST
Let's go ahead rule out Arizona, rookie quarterback, rookie coach, etc. Also, San Francisco, a team with few playmakers and we stll don;t know what Jimmy Garropollo can do on a consistent basis in the league though I do like their defense.
So to the 2 real contenders.
Russell Wilson may not have the prototypical quarterback size but he is a baller. When he is on the field, your team will ALWAYS have a chance., He has gone to 2 Super Bowls and is a proven guy in this league. I am very interested in seein what Seattle does this year due to losing top receiver Doug Baldwin. Whatever they do, Wilson has earned my trust Will the Seahawks defense ever get back to what it was a few years ago? Maybe not, those guys were all time great, but they can play fast and physical. Pete Carroll will always field a solid defensive ballclub.
As far as the Rams, I expect their offense to take another step this year. Their quarterback Jared Goff just got PAIDDD so he has to go out there and justify that deal! This team is trying to get back to the Super Bowl and if they can find consistency defensively which they struggled with last season, then maybe they can go there again.
But I'm rolling with Seattle.
And now for the AFC...
AFC EAST
I mean, this is easy. The team that will this division is the team that has won this division every year of my life (slight exaggeration). As long as Tom Brady and Bill Belichick make it to the stadium, the Patriots will be the AFC East champs. It's not even a debate. As a Le'veon Bell fan I'm sure he'll play well for his new team in New York but it won't be enough to come close to what the Patriots produce.
AFC NORTH
[BIAS ALERT!!!]
I am a Pittsburgh Steeler fan through and through! I have been rocking with them forever so YES, they are my pick to win the North. They didn't have the flashy big name offseason that the Cleveland Browns had but come on, are we seriously picking the Browns to win the North? lol.
That's comical but I'll admit they did add alot of talent, led by OBJ, as well as Kareem Hunt who will join them after he serves an 8 game suspension. Quarterback Baker Mayfield has done ALOT of talking this offseason so he better be able to back it up. Management has given him a stacked defense from front to back, along with playmakers in Beckham, Jarvis Landry, Antonio Calloway, and tight end David Njoku. He has no excuses....but like i said...
Pittsburgh is not about to hand this division over. Ben Roethlisberger is ready to have his best season ever! NO MORE DISTRACTION'S now that drama queen Antonio Brown is gone to Oakland, and Bell is with the Jets. Coach Tomlin can just focus on guys that wan to be here. The much maligned Steeler defense took a step last year as the core group of Bud Dupree, TJ Watt and former Brown Joe Haden established a toughness not seen since the Ryan Clark,Joey Porter days. The Steelers took Michigan linebacker Devin Bush in the 1st round of this year's draft showing they are valuing that side of the ball more than in the past. Easy to do when you have an offense that can be explosive. Running Back James Conner filled in well for Bell and while he is not Le'veon, he was able to show he can be an effective runner with the ball as well as catch it out of the backfield. JuJu Smith-Shuster has established himself as one of the best wide receivers in the league and without Brown he has a big chance to take another step! If Pittsburgh can get help from newcomer Donte Moncrief, as well as James Washington I expect them to take this division.
Baltimore should be solid, and they'll have a great defense but their entire season depends on the growth of quarterback Lamar Jackson. He is an outstanding playmaker and almost unstoppable in the open field but being accurate throwing the ball to receivers has been a struggle for him. If he takes a big step, so do the Ravens.
AFC SOUTH
The Houston Texans are my choice to win this division. They have the most talent, led by quarterback Deshaun Watson. He is a winner and can run as well as he can pass and I expect a HUGE year from him this year. The Texans were dealt a tough blow when starting running back Lamar Miller tore his ACL, but they were able to trade for Cleveland Browns running back Duke Johnson Jr, before he got hurt. His skills as a pass catcher are surely to help this Texans offense. They also need Will Fuller to be healthy. He has gotten hurt each of the past 2 seasons but when he plays, he is effective, shown by his 11 games played with Watson, and his 11 touchdowns in those games. The Texans also added another receiver in Kenny Stills. He is talented and could be a good number 3 or 4 receiver depending on how Keke Coutee plays this year. The Texans defense will look a little different as they traded away Jadaveon Clowney but when you have JJ Watt anchoring your defensive line, you'll be fine.
This may be the final year I have hope for Marcus Mariota. The former Heisman winner came in with alot of hype and he hasn't been a bad player by any means for Tennessee, but he hasn't been the next level top 3 draft pick many people thought he would be! He has talent returning and another former Heisman winner in Derrick Henry. Hopefully those 2 can help lead that offense. The Titans defense however is unit that I do trust in.
The Indianapolis Colts were dealt a huge blow 3 weeks before the season started when franchise quarterback Andrew Luck suddenly retired. They will replace him with backup Jacoby Brisett who is a solid player, but not Luck, However I think he is every bit as good as Dak Prescott. The Colts have a solid defense but you have to think they take a step back this year.
Jacksonville could be a sleeper after a terrible year last year, They no longer have the mess that is Blake Bortles and now have a Super Bowl champion in Nick Foles. Running back Leonard Fournette looks to bounce back and have a big year after missing some time last year and if he does, and the defense gets back to how they were 2 years ago, the Jags could make some noise.
AFC WEST
Just like last year, this is a 2 horse race between the Chargers and the Chiefs. Oakland will be a decent team but they now have the drama queen of the league in Antonio Brown, but I will say if any coach can navigate that, it's Jon Gruden. Denver to me, just doesn't have enough talent to truly compete.
So..
Kansas City should be sick! The offense will be crazy. They not only have league MVP Patrick Mahomes at quarterback but also Lesean McCoy, Damian William,m Tyreek Hill, Mecole Hardman, DeAnthony Thomas, Sammy Watkins, and oh the best tight end in the league Travis Kelce. They will put up points, but can they stop anyone? They picked up safety Tyrann Mathieu in the offseason so help them stop getting lit up but they may need more than that.
The Chargers will need to find a rushing attack as it appears starting running back Melvin Gordon will miss some time. Phillip Rivers should be able to keep the offense moving in his 15th season. I expect receiver Mike Williams to make a HUGE jump this year and throw his name in their with the top guys, not to mention they still have the sure handed Keenan Allen. The Chargers also have a good defense, but that will be tested as starting safety Derwin James will miss at least half the year due to injury.
If I have to make a choice of who wins the West, I have to go Kansas City! It's Patrick Mahomes world!

As far Tampa Bay goes, I will never ever, ever, ever trust a team that is led Jameis Winston.
NFC WEST
Let's go ahead rule out Arizona, rookie quarterback, rookie coach, etc. Also, San Francisco, a team with few playmakers and we stll don;t know what Jimmy Garropollo can do on a consistent basis in the league though I do like their defense.
So to the 2 real contenders.
Russell Wilson may not have the prototypical quarterback size but he is a baller. When he is on the field, your team will ALWAYS have a chance., He has gone to 2 Super Bowls and is a proven guy in this league. I am very interested in seein what Seattle does this year due to losing top receiver Doug Baldwin. Whatever they do, Wilson has earned my trust Will the Seahawks defense ever get back to what it was a few years ago? Maybe not, those guys were all time great, but they can play fast and physical. Pete Carroll will always field a solid defensive ballclub.
As far as the Rams, I expect their offense to take another step this year. Their quarterback Jared Goff just got PAIDDD so he has to go out there and justify that deal! This team is trying to get back to the Super Bowl and if they can find consistency defensively which they struggled with last season, then maybe they can go there again.
But I'm rolling with Seattle.
And now for the AFC...
AFC EAST
I mean, this is easy. The team that will this division is the team that has won this division every year of my life (slight exaggeration). As long as Tom Brady and Bill Belichick make it to the stadium, the Patriots will be the AFC East champs. It's not even a debate. As a Le'veon Bell fan I'm sure he'll play well for his new team in New York but it won't be enough to come close to what the Patriots produce.
AFC NORTH

I am a Pittsburgh Steeler fan through and through! I have been rocking with them forever so YES, they are my pick to win the North. They didn't have the flashy big name offseason that the Cleveland Browns had but come on, are we seriously picking the Browns to win the North? lol.
That's comical but I'll admit they did add alot of talent, led by OBJ, as well as Kareem Hunt who will join them after he serves an 8 game suspension. Quarterback Baker Mayfield has done ALOT of talking this offseason so he better be able to back it up. Management has given him a stacked defense from front to back, along with playmakers in Beckham, Jarvis Landry, Antonio Calloway, and tight end David Njoku. He has no excuses....but like i said...
Pittsburgh is not about to hand this division over. Ben Roethlisberger is ready to have his best season ever! NO MORE DISTRACTION'S now that drama queen Antonio Brown is gone to Oakland, and Bell is with the Jets. Coach Tomlin can just focus on guys that wan to be here. The much maligned Steeler defense took a step last year as the core group of Bud Dupree, TJ Watt and former Brown Joe Haden established a toughness not seen since the Ryan Clark,Joey Porter days. The Steelers took Michigan linebacker Devin Bush in the 1st round of this year's draft showing they are valuing that side of the ball more than in the past. Easy to do when you have an offense that can be explosive. Running Back James Conner filled in well for Bell and while he is not Le'veon, he was able to show he can be an effective runner with the ball as well as catch it out of the backfield. JuJu Smith-Shuster has established himself as one of the best wide receivers in the league and without Brown he has a big chance to take another step! If Pittsburgh can get help from newcomer Donte Moncrief, as well as James Washington I expect them to take this division.
Baltimore should be solid, and they'll have a great defense but their entire season depends on the growth of quarterback Lamar Jackson. He is an outstanding playmaker and almost unstoppable in the open field but being accurate throwing the ball to receivers has been a struggle for him. If he takes a big step, so do the Ravens.
AFC SOUTH
The Houston Texans are my choice to win this division. They have the most talent, led by quarterback Deshaun Watson. He is a winner and can run as well as he can pass and I expect a HUGE year from him this year. The Texans were dealt a tough blow when starting running back Lamar Miller tore his ACL, but they were able to trade for Cleveland Browns running back Duke Johnson Jr, before he got hurt. His skills as a pass catcher are surely to help this Texans offense. They also need Will Fuller to be healthy. He has gotten hurt each of the past 2 seasons but when he plays, he is effective, shown by his 11 games played with Watson, and his 11 touchdowns in those games. The Texans also added another receiver in Kenny Stills. He is talented and could be a good number 3 or 4 receiver depending on how Keke Coutee plays this year. The Texans defense will look a little different as they traded away Jadaveon Clowney but when you have JJ Watt anchoring your defensive line, you'll be fine.
This may be the final year I have hope for Marcus Mariota. The former Heisman winner came in with alot of hype and he hasn't been a bad player by any means for Tennessee, but he hasn't been the next level top 3 draft pick many people thought he would be! He has talent returning and another former Heisman winner in Derrick Henry. Hopefully those 2 can help lead that offense. The Titans defense however is unit that I do trust in.
The Indianapolis Colts were dealt a huge blow 3 weeks before the season started when franchise quarterback Andrew Luck suddenly retired. They will replace him with backup Jacoby Brisett who is a solid player, but not Luck, However I think he is every bit as good as Dak Prescott. The Colts have a solid defense but you have to think they take a step back this year.
Jacksonville could be a sleeper after a terrible year last year, They no longer have the mess that is Blake Bortles and now have a Super Bowl champion in Nick Foles. Running back Leonard Fournette looks to bounce back and have a big year after missing some time last year and if he does, and the defense gets back to how they were 2 years ago, the Jags could make some noise.
AFC WEST
Just like last year, this is a 2 horse race between the Chargers and the Chiefs. Oakland will be a decent team but they now have the drama queen of the league in Antonio Brown, but I will say if any coach can navigate that, it's Jon Gruden. Denver to me, just doesn't have enough talent to truly compete.
So..
Kansas City should be sick! The offense will be crazy. They not only have league MVP Patrick Mahomes at quarterback but also Lesean McCoy, Damian William,m Tyreek Hill, Mecole Hardman, DeAnthony Thomas, Sammy Watkins, and oh the best tight end in the league Travis Kelce. They will put up points, but can they stop anyone? They picked up safety Tyrann Mathieu in the offseason so help them stop getting lit up but they may need more than that.
The Chargers will need to find a rushing attack as it appears starting running back Melvin Gordon will miss some time. Phillip Rivers should be able to keep the offense moving in his 15th season. I expect receiver Mike Williams to make a HUGE jump this year and throw his name in their with the top guys, not to mention they still have the sure handed Keenan Allen. The Chargers also have a good defense, but that will be tested as starting safety Derwin James will miss at least half the year due to injury.
If I have to make a choice of who wins the West, I have to go Kansas City! It's Patrick Mahomes world!
